From the PBS series American Masters, which has produced wonderful documentaries of Bob Dylan, Joni Mitchell, and Woody Guthrie, comes this fascinating look at Joan Baez's impressive career in music and political activism. American Masters has always done a miraculous job of digging up archival footage that nobody ever knew existed, and for Joan Baez they have unearthed the family's home movies, with fleeting but fascinating shots of Pauline, Joan and Mimi as children, as well as some previously unreleased concert footage and still photography spanning half a century.
