| Most Valuable Person Award
"Bread & Roses Receives Accolades Founder Honored Founding Director Mimi Fariņa was awarded the 1992 Most Valuable Person Award by the San Francisco chapter of the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences. The event was held in February at the War Memorial Opera House in San Francisco. Accepting the award, she acknowledged her small but highly productive staff, board members in attendance, and all the Bread & Roses volunteers, who are a constant source of inspiration. In June, Bread & Roses was honored to be chosen as one of the three recipients of the San Francisco Foundation's Helen Crocker Russell Award. Bread & Roses volunteers were invited to attend the awards reception held at Gabbiano's Restaurant in San Francisco. Speaking of Bread & Roses was long-time volunteer and award nominator Betsy Waud, and twelve-year Bread & Rose performer Wendy Worsley." --From the Bread & Roses newsletter |
